Hawthorn Class

Hawthorn Class is a class of 16 Year 4 children, taught by Mr McDonald and supported by Mrs Russell.

This Term

Hawthorn Class will be learning about the Volcanos. During this topic we shall focus on the physical geography based around volcanos such as climate zones, volcanoes features and earthquake causes and effect. The class will also be exploding with excitement when they get the opportunity to create their own volcano! In RE we will be learning about Jesus’s incarnation, gospel and salvation through the miracles and after half term the focus will be Easter. PE days are Wednesday for swimming and Thursday for invasion games – please be mindful to take out jewellery and children wear an active uniform (PE kit) on those days.

Homework

Spellings have been given out for the half term. Check the rule and use the spelling strategy that suits you to help learn the rule and words. Please see the attachment if you need a second look. Y4 Spellings Spring 2

Times Table Rock Stars are available all the time! See https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student/57751 to login. Assignments are set each week so have a go at least once per week. Please ask if you are unsure of login details.

Reading is vitally important to your child’s learning so please find the time to read and discuss your child’s book with them at least three times a week.
