Hawthorn Class

Hawthorn Class is a class of 31 Year 3 and 4 children, taught by Mr McDonald and supported by Mrs Russell and Mrs Cullen.

This term, Hawthorn Class will be learning about Ancient Egypt. During this topic we shall travel back over 5,000 years to investigate the lives of the Ancient Egyptian gods, the pharaohs and their slaves. We shall decode hieroglyphs, create jewellery and practice the ancient art of mummification. We will make links to the importance of the River Nile and base most of our English writing around the Ancient Egyptian topic – closely looking at the book ‘There’s a Pharaoh in our Bath’ by Jeremy Strong. Our RE focus is God, David and the Psalms, in particular what values do we consider important to God, how we demonstrate them and who inspires us.
